Europe wins the 2012 Ryder Cup

At the start of the final day, Sunday, things were not looking to great for Europe as they were down 10-6. Needing 14 points to retain the Ryder Cup meant that they had their work cut out for the day.

As usual there was plenty of action on this final day including Rory McIlroy turning up just ten minutes before he was due to tee off. As expected from the world number one this did not affect him at all and he would go on to win his match against Keegan Bradley 2-1.
Ian Poulter had an outstanding 2012 Ryder Cup winning all four matches he played in. He won against Web Simpson in the singles, He won ,together with Rory McIlroy, against Jayson Dufner and Zach Johnson in the fourball,Won, together with Justin Rose, against Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson as well as Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods in the Foursomes to make it 4 from 4!!!

The only Three Americans who managed to win their matches on the final day were D. Johnson 3-2 over N. Colsaerts, Z. Johnson 2-1 over G. McDowell and J. Dufner  2up over P. Hanson.
Tiger Woods would half with Francesca Molanari and the rest of the European team  members would win their matches and make Europe the 2012 Ryder Cup Winners.

Ryder Cup, Medinah 2012

The 2012 Ryder Cup gets under way at Medinah and it is the Americans who draw first blood. Even though the Americans take a 2 point lead on day one, the talk of the day is about the the European Rookie, Nicolas Colsaerts, burning up the course in record breaking fashion. This is the first time that Belgium has a player appearing in the Ryder Cup and to boast an incredible eight birdies and an eagle in the final fourball game of the day in Chicago certainly has put Belgium on the golfing map.

VOLVO WORLD MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP 2012

The Field for 2012 is made up of 24 international players all inside the top 100 on the world golf rankings list. The Format is simple. 24 Players split into 8 groups of 3,  Group matches being played on Thursday and Friday with the top 2 players in each group moving through to the last 16 with a knock out format from there on.

It's always exciting to watch Match Play golf as it makes for aggressive golf !!!

Top of the Leaderboard is Kevin Na but just three shots behind is last weeks winner, Rickie Fowler who I am certain is going to pull out the back to back VICTORY.

2012

The new year is upon us and I hope it will be everything we all hope and dream for. This will be my final year of seeing if i can make a come back to the professional golf circuit. Hopefully this year all my visa issues go a little easier and i will have the opportunity to play in the few events I want to in order to test and truly evaluate my game.

It has been a good 2011 for me in my personal life as I got married to the most fantastic lady on this planet on Dec 1st and now feel like I have an even clearer mind and less distractions to completely focus on the next few tournaments.

I am back in South Africa as of the 1st Jan 2012 and have three tournaments on the IGT Pro Tour to play and then it will be back to Germany to play on the EPD and Alps tours. I will only play one event a month for a total of 10 events for my season and after this I am sure I will be able to answer the questions being asked about my Life As a Professional Golfer.

I am going into this year, not only good physical shape, but with a clear mental approach that I believe it will be a definite proof as to whether I ask for my amateur status back and just continue this blog as a experienced golfer and report on the lives of other Professional players or continue this blog as a 100% success at my attempt to reach my life's ambition.

I look forward to the up coming tournament and really hope to report, at worst, a top 10 finish in all my 10 events this year and hammer it out at the 2013 European Tour School. My game plan is simple, solid and effective enough to provide the results I am expecting.

So I hope you read up each week and share this blessed and amazing path I am on for 2012.......
